Newest Photos from Suriname
I’ll be leaving South America soon for Europe again and I thought I’d post my most recent photos since I’ve been here.
It’s been a wonderful experience being able to stay here and photograph the things I have. The animals here are wonderful and
I’m always amazed to see Parrots, Monkeys and Parakeets roaming around free in my backyard.
I’ll be going out into the interior today on my motorcycle.
I hope to shoot some villages while I’m there. I have tons more stuff I didn’t post here, up on Flickr, if you want to check them out.
I don’t really post here on myspace anymore, as you could probably tell. However, I basically only post things to Flickr. I try to keep that place updated constantly, as its the easiest to
do so with.
Anyway… Hope everyone had a great weekend. I’m out.
*hugs*
Paramaribo, Suriname – Fri. May 4, 2007
I don’t mean for there to be so much time between posts but things here have been busy and getting into the city with all this rain is rather hard at times. It rains just about every day here and floods the yard making it hard to get into other parts of the country as we’re actually on higher ground than most and other areas stay flooded for days at a time.

Lelydorp, Suriname – Video
I took this video in our back yard using the onboard webcam on my laptop. HEH So yeah it’s really crappy as far as quality goes but it gives you an idea of my back yard. Please note that this is only actually about 1/5 of the yard. The other part of it was too difficult to navigate with a laptop in hand so I cut it off and ran away from the mosquitos just after hitting the area where the growth gets thick ![]()

Paramaribo, Suriname – Sat. April 29, 2007
Yesterday we walked through the rain for about an hour through flooded streets to pick up Zero (Zee), our new puppy. We got there and noticed his eye had a tick in it. The poor puppy had the worst case of fleas I had ever seen and two other ticks as well. I’ve never seen such neglect with pets before. His mother had at least 15 ticks that were the size of nickels and knowing how people don’t care for their pets the same here as they do in the US, I decided on taking him for sure instead of picking another one because I feared someone would be mean to him if he ended up being blind in one eye or even that someone would cause him to be blind by leaving it there or trying to pull it out themselves. Edward stabbed the poor dog in the eye with needle nose pliers trying to get it out, so I’ve decided against trying and instead taking him to the vet. (more…)
