Newest Photos from Suriname

I’ll be leaving South America soon for Europe again and I thought I’d post my most recent photos since I’ve been here.
It’s been a wonderful experience being able to stay here and photograph the things I have. The animals here are wonderful and

I’m always amazed to see Parrots, Monkeys and Parakeets roaming around free in my backyard.
I’ll be going out into the interior today on my motorcycle.

I hope to shoot some villages while I’m there. I have tons more stuff I didn’t post here, up on Flickr, if you want to check them out.
I don’t really post here on myspace anymore, as you could probably tell. However, I basically only post things to Flickr. I try to keep that place updated constantly, as its the easiest to

do so with.
Anyway… Hope everyone had a great weekend. I’m out. :) *hugs*

Lelydorp, Suriname – Video

I took this video in our back yard using the onboard webcam on my laptop. HEH So yeah it’s really crappy as far as quality goes but it gives you an idea of my back yard. Please note that this is only actually about 1/5 of the yard. The other part of it was too difficult to navigate with a laptop in hand so I cut it off and ran away from the mosquitos just after hitting the area where the growth gets thick :)

Paramaribo, Suriname – Day 6

I was awoke at 5:30am by nothing other than, monkeys. Five monkeys had decided to rob our only fruit tree baring fruit. I quickly grabbed my camera and set out through the bush toward them to see if I could get a clean shot. As they scurried away, one stayed behind just as curious as I was, hiding behind a branch and studying every move. I never did get a clear shot of him but was excited to learn that they like to visit that fruit tree every morning so I have the feeling we’ll be seeing each other again.

Paramaribo, Suriname – Day 4

At just before noon, Lucien and I decided to go out into town for a walk. We explored the city streets and the market square and decided to travel out to the house we’ll be taking over shortly. We explored the land, discussing where to build our new house in the next year. Along the way I spotted a butterfly hopping from plant to plant and couldn’t resist snapping a photo of him. After we returned back to the house to see what work needed to be done on it, it started to rain. Lucien stripped off his shirt and we stood in our new back yard, showering in the warm South American rain.
