Paramaribo, Suriname – Day 12

We were awoken early in the morning by the neighbor boy Edward, whom I’m guessing was skipping school that day and using our house to hide out in. He offered to clean our house in exchange for letting him hang out all day and we agreed. We took off to get a newspaper to purchase a second hand motorbike.
We called quite a few places before we found the one that we liked and quickly set off to see it for ourselves. We were met by a boy who showed us his bike and despite the few cosmetic issues it had, it was in general a nice bike. Lucien shelled out his 950SRD and we rode it back to his mother’s house so we could pick it up later.
On another note, I’ve decided to start skipping days as it takes me quite a while to get to the internet café at times and sometimes I’m far too busy and forget to write. So instead I’ll start labeling my posts with dates attached.

you should make that kid realize an education is far moe important than cleaning your house….he should want to learn…an education is a privilege
